The history of the team dates back to 2015, when the need to teach military personnel the basics of pre-hospital care became very acute. The team was formed from professional doctors, military personnel and concerned non-medical professionals. After completing basic training and standardising the course, the first group went to the 169th Desna Training Centre to train mobilised personnel, which gave the initial name of the Desna Rescue Team. This was followed by two more basic training sessions, which in total trained more than 80 instructors who joined the training and active service in the armed forces.

In 2016, we strengthened our presence on the frontline, participating in evacuation teams and providing emergency medical care in the most difficult conditions.

Over time, the organisation has evolved from a volunteer movement to a professional structure focused on expanding knowledge and improving skills in security and rescue operations.

Development is impossible without a systematic approach. That is why, since the end of 2016, we have transformed our activities from generalised volunteering to more professional and focused development. Part of the team went to serve in the armed forces, some joined the civil service, and some improved their instructor skills and continued to conduct training on pre-hospital care and safety.

After 2019, most public and volunteer activities were curtailed and The emphasis was shifted to institutional development and the introduction of new approaches to learning.

Since 2022, the main focus of our team has been medical evacuation, as part of the volunteer medical battalion Hospitallers. The training is mostly non-public, on request and for a narrow circle of our friends.

Since the foundation of the organisation, we have trained over 40,000 people, created 16 training programmes, and our graduates apply their knowledge in combat, crisis situations and civilian life.
We continue to develop our initiatives, maintaining our focus on practical training, strategic development and implementation of systemic solutions for society.

Our activities are a contribution to the future, where safety, knowledge and sustainability are the foundation of sustainable development.

Today, our organisation is not just a medical volunteer initiative, but a powerful force for change that influences the course of history through capacity building in key sectors of society.

Our global goal is to build capacity in the economic and social sectors, contributing to the development of a sustainable and responsible society.
